I’ve has been practicing yoga since 2000. I first started when her company gym offered sponsored classes during the workday, and stayed with that same teacher for five years. When I moved to Washington from Southern California, I explored a number of yoga studios in the area, primarily spending time at Yoga Tree in Seattle, and Shakti Yoga in Belleuve.
I have practiced numerous styles, and primarily practice in the styles of Hatha and Vinyasa, but enjoy Iyengar and Anusara inspired Hatha and Power Yoga in the bulk of my own practice. Since my first pregnancy, I’ve also been very happy to add prenatal yoga to my own practice and teaching schedule, using the benefits of yoga to make pregnancy and childbirth easier. I enjoy studying the yoga sutras, and the application of yoga philosophy to my every day life. And I love exploring and studying the body and how it moves, to better protect and strengthen what we all have to work with.
In 2008, I started my teaching path with a 6-month, 200-hr teacher training in Seattle. With the help of friends to get a lot of practice teaching under my belt, I graduated in June 2008, and began teaching. I absolutely love it!
